Max Miller '59 reports the following unwelcome news:

"59ers & Friends,

"Our original classmate from the 306 of us in 1955, has departed this earth. Walt Sweeney passed away after a long illness on Friday, May 12, 2023. When funeral plans are made, further information will be provided.

"His widow may be contacted: Mary E. Sweeney, 2752 Martone Road, Norfolk, VA 23518, and His daughter: Beth Sweeney Newman, newman.math@yahoo.com, 1112 Park Glen Place, Durham NC 27713.

"Walt was an Air Force fighter pilot and then served several congregations as a Baptist minister. ’59 & ’60 classmates will remember Walt as a friend who always had a smile and a happy greeting.

Update: Visitation will be on 19 May from 1330 to 1430 at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel, 3445 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA. A graveside-service will be on 19 May at 1500 at Charity Cemetery, 4080 Charity Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA.

Les Querry has discovered the following sad news:

Col (Ret) Stephen Ray "Tim" Holt passed away on 17 February 17 at Cardinal Village in Fredericksburg, VA with his wife Patti at his side.

Services were held at the Bowling Green Chapel of the Storke Funeral Home on Sunday, 26 February.

Tim was interred on 27 February at the Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.
