20 November 2013
The monthly class lunch of the Colorado contingent took place at the Colorado Mountain Brewery on Wednesday, 20 November. In line with our theme for 2013 to reveal some facts of ourselves that may not be known, Denis Walsh was on-deck. He claimed that if he spoke of his successes, it would be too short and, if he spoke of his mistakes, it would be too long, so he regaled us with his very interesting relationship with the venerable F-111 "Aardvark". The event was well attended with 14 soles: Front Row; Brush, Glaza, Mosier, Waddle, Yates, Biancur, Schwank. Rear Row: Kendall, Walsh, Pupich, Sexton, Savage, Roe, Porter. Missing: Bujalski & Billello - on a lengthy cruise, McCullough - hunting in S. Dakota, Hobson, Schehr - just MIA.
18 September 2013
The Colorado Springs contingent met for our monthly luncheon on 18 September (the 66th anniversary of the Air Force) at CHAMPPs – the usual haunt. Wayne Kendall had previously started a program asking each classmate to tell his life/career story. Following others in previous months, Ron Yates reviewed his productive career. It is amazing that every one of us has done things that the rest of us had no knowledge of. In every case thus far the talks have been extremely interesting and very informative. The attendees were: Jim Bujalski, John McCullough, Wayne Kendall, Jim Waddle, Gordon Savage, Ron Yates, Jim Glaza, Denis Walsh, George Pupich, Bill Hodson, Dick Schehr, & Andi Biancur (a dirty dozen).
We also discussed the upcoming annual InterService weekend on 1-3 November. Since the response from out-of-town folks netted just two definite and one possible, we will minimize the activities usually planned for the Army game weekend. At present, our tentative thoughts consist of a group dinner at a local restaurant on Friday 1 November and we will absorb all class attendees within our regular football tailgate. If anyone decides to come at the last moment, please let me know and we will accommodate your request.
17 April 2013
The Colorado Springs '60 Group met for our monthly lunch at Champp's Sports Bar on Wednesday, 17 April. The turn out was a bit light as we were experiencing one of our usual April snow storms. Dick Sexton, using his well-earned credentials as a "Master Gardner," enlightened us all with very interesting facts on the multiple micro climates common in Colorado. His talk initiated many good questions from those of us who attended. Questions, Dick answered with great knowledge and expertise. Attending were: Bill Hodson, Jack Brush, Dick Sexton, Dick Schehr, Fred Porter, Jim Waddle, Jock Schwank, Wayne Kendall (had to leave early), and Andi Biancur (not in photo).
