The photo verifies the individuals who made it to the monthly class lunch on 17 December. They are (from left to right) Dick Sexton, Gordy Savage, Jack Brush, Jim Waddle, John McCullough, Andi Biancur, Jim Glaza, Wayne Kendall, Jock Schwank, Fred Porter, George Pupich, Pete Roe, Denis Walsh, & Dick Schehr. Following a great lunch Pete Roe had all our attention as he described what must have been a very interesting and exciting career in the early 60s strategic missile field. For a guy who "claims" he had trouble keeping up with the USAFA educational pace, Pete's career was filled with extremely demanding engineering requirements - which, by-the-way, met with great success. It is always amazing to discover what we don't know about each other and how much each classmate has contributes throughout his life. It makes every opportunity that we get together a very rewarding experience.

On 13 December, the class got together for our annual Christmas Party at the club house maintained by the community where the Waddle's reside. After a few passes by the bar supplied by the Glaza's, we sat down to a catered meal which seemed to please everyone present. Following an "ice-breaker poem by Jack Brush and a round of lame jokes and stories we retired to a session of Combat White Elephant which saw the usual collection of questionable gifts being submitted to a gauntlet of movement.. In attendance were: Ron & Connie Yates, Jack & Elaine Brush, Hope & Jock Schwank, Deanne & John McCullough, Duck & Mary Waddle, Jeannette & Jim Glaza, Andi & Carole Biancur, Wayne & Barbara Kendall, Bruce & Caryl Mosier, &Ed & Lucia Montgomery ('59). Again, we have to thank Mary Waddle for honchoing the affair, Jeannette Glaza for managing the excellent meal and Carole Biancur for pitching in where needed. Without these ladies this event would not happen and I would be receiving a ton of complaints.
19 November 2014
The Colorado Springs Class Group met for our monthly lunch at the Mountain Brewery as usual on 19 November. We were able to corral 14 souls consisting of: Andi Biancur, Jack Brush, Jim Glaza, Bill Hodson, Wayne Kendall, Bruce Mosier, Fred Porter, Pete Roe, Dick Schehr, Jock Schwank, Dick Sexton, Jim Waddle, Denis Walsh, , and Ron Yates. At a previous request, Wayne was successful in rounding up three representatives from a popular local advanced care facility, Liberty Heights, to give us a presentation of the services and costs we should expect if we decided to go that direction in our later years. Their presentation was very informative and the response to the numerous questions from some of our more mature members gave a clear picture of that option.
Wayne asked for suggestions as to what the group would like to spice up future lunch programs. The majority decision was to stick with our previous theme to have one classmate each month relate something about his life experiences. The thought being that we were all family who know very little about the various diverse lives we have all led. This theme may be occasionally augmented by inviting an occasional guest and asking visiting classmates to say a few words about their lives.
Wayne, our event leader, has planned our next get-together for 17 December, the third Wednesday , at which, following a failed attempt to invite the new Commandant of Cadets will see Pete Roe as our next speaker.
