Howdy Gents,

Another nice day at the DC '60 Luncheon. However only 8 grads could make it this time. Good stories headed up by Mike Loh. His grandson is with the Class of 1916 so we got a rundown on how things are going at USAFA. Mike also talked about RG Head's attempt at writing a book. Mike showed us some pictures of RG and his big model airplane. Mike is hunkered down in Williamsburg. He got a new hip in January so he has given up on golf and is concentrating on taking care of his lawn with the new grass cutting tools he just bought. His son is a two star with the Colorado ANG. Ralph Lalime went to Misawa Japan earlier this year to visit son Chris. Chris was recently at Salt Lake City to get his Masters Degree. They will be moving back to the USA this fall. Son Jay and his family will move to Springfield this fall. Ralph will vacation in Hawaii this Sept. He has six grandkids. Bob Odenweller told us about meeting Kim Novak the day before starting at USAFA. He missed the chance to have a date with her. Tom Burke is still working half days with the airplane industry. He has 13 grandkids. I guess he needs to work to help out with all those youngsters. Oh, Bob Odenweller celebrated his fiftieth wedding anniversary in Provance, France. He was recently advisor to the gent that owns the costliest mail stamp. It is now displayed at the museum across from Union Station here in DC. He is still very busy with the stamp folks and will soon head back to Europe for another session. Bob Fischer plans on going to this falls reunion at USAFA. He still works at the Willow Grove air Museum. Hock does not have much going on but stays busy on speaking tours. His wife Kathy is fine and they have just about finished renovating their home. Les Querry will host his annual fall dinner on the 24th of October. Put that date on your calendars. He also reminded us to check the class web site for the latest on news and pictures. Ken Alnwick has taken over the scribe duties from Rosie Cler.

So where were the rest of the guys.Bronson was out of town. Carnegie was with the grandkids in Burbank, Ca. Alnwick waS in Ft. Walton Beach. Doug Rek is undergoing chemo therapy for lukemia. His step daughter is in the Class of 2019 at USAFA. The de la Cruzes were in Minneapolis where Betty will play in the National Senior Pickle Ball Tournament. Leon Goodson had a scheduling conflict. Mike Clarke had a cracked rib and could not travel. Do not know where Jack Schira was since he did not check in.

Well that is about it. I am still hurting from the spinal stenosis. I barely get around even with the canes. I guess if will be a walker and then the CHAIR. It is old age getting the best of me. You all take care and look forward to seeing you all at Les's in October.

L to R Sitting; Pat Warack, Mary Ellen Burke, Karen and Tony Burshnick, Howie and Judy Bronson Standing; Les Querry, Leon Goodson, Betty and Jerry de la Cruz, Tom Burke, Bill Carnegie, Cathe and Bill Hockenberry, Al and Gale Johnson, Bob Fischer, Judy and Ken Alnwick
FELLOW GRADS AND ALL THOSE BEAUTIFUL WIVES,

Well just another great luncheon. First off the guys who could not make it. Bill Hales and Doug Rek were at Hilton Head. The Lalimes were down at Sanibel Island for their spring vacation. Do not know where Higgins and Haller were. Mike Loh was in Hartford and then was going to USAFA for the big Founders Day Dinner. Schira and Clarke never checked in.

This should be called Grandparents luncheon since most of the guys bragged about the grandkids. Bob Fischer's wife Lutzi was tied up with work. His granddaughter had a lacrosse match. She has a scholarship at Colgate U. She was the MVP at a recent match against the Navy Academy team. Bob is attending a seniors' class at his local University. Bill Hock regaled us with some labor management stories. He recently had surgery to fix a right achilles tendon. Spent a lot of time in recovery. Howie Bronson needed a walker to get around after his sking accident at the Johnson Ski School. Al fell and banged up his leg but no operation needed. Tom Burke has no medical problems. He is still working half days and spending a lot of time looking at colleges for the grandkids. Ken Alnwick is heavily involved in lacrosse coaching. Working with lots of mid eastern Asians. Al Johnson said ski school was great this year except for the spill. He did have a bionic eye put in. He plans on going back up to Maine in May. Bill Carnegie went on a cruise around South America. Had some good stories about a local doctor he met. Leon Goodson gave us the grandkids stories. Jerry de la Cruz gave us the real details about Johnson and Bronson ski spills. He will soon be going to New York to watch his granddaughter in a play. Les Querry had a tough winter shoveling snow and ice at his mountain retreat. He reminded us that we are still looking for a replacement to do the work Rosie has been doing for the last few years. We will probaably have the Roost on the third week in October. I am doing ok but the back and knees still hurt and I struggle to get around with the two canes. The docs injected the knees with some medicinal oil but it did not do any good. Tough getting old. Right now it looks like we will get together again on the 13th of July. I will keep you all posted but save the day.

That does it. Let me know if I forgot anything.

HI GUYS

Well it was not a big crowd but as always a good time and an excellent meal.

Mike and Bill send us a note a let us know how the surgeries went!!!!!!Doug Rek is working a cancer issue. Ralph Lalime had a physical but did show up a bit late. Too much ice for Hock and Les Querry. Bob Fischer was busy up in PA. Odenweller was busy with his stamp work. Norm Haller moved to Georgia. Norm how about sending us all your new address. Do not know where Shira, Clarke and Leon Goodson were.

Tom Burke and May dinged up their cars in the recent ice storm. Tom is still an independent consultant on Commercial aircraft. He will also have a new e-mail teb0124@gmail Jerry de la Cruz forestalled a knee operation by having chicken fat inserted in the knee. He is ready to go skiing again. Probably will go to Al's Ski School. Al impressed us all with his Ski School sweater. He claims to be the worst skier at the school. He took his VA house off the market and is looking at Florida. However he still does financial advising up in Maine while he is there. Ralph Lalime got back from his son's home in Mass. this week He enjoyed drilling maple trees and making syrup. He also went skiing up there and helped make a skate rink for the grand kids.

Bob Badgers son sent him and Lil some airline tickets so they had a nice Christmas vacation in Canada. Son Bruno is doing well with his pasta store. Bill Carnegie enjoyed holiday meal swaps with the neighbors. His son works at the embassy in India, Bill also regaled us with stories about the Navy Band and some sax quartets.

Nothing new with me since I still just barely get around with my two canes. My biggest adventure is with the locals at Starbucks every Friday.

We decided to hold another luncheon on Founders Day on 1 April. It will be a ladies session too. I will get a note off in late March to confirm

If i missed anything send a note. We had a picture taken and will send it to you Les. Les's e=mail address is lesquerry@gmail.com.
