Bobby's History
Major Bobby Beverly, USAFA Class of 1964, reported to the Academy on 27 June 1960 from Channelview, TX. While at the Academy, he was a member of the 14th Cadet Squadron and the Varsity Pistol Team.
Following graduation, Bobby reported to Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laredo AFB, TX. Following UPT, he remained at Laredo as an instructor pilot with the 3640th Pilot Training Squadron. In 1970 and 1971, Bobby was an RF-4C pilot with the 16th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron (TRS) at Misawa AB, Japan. In 1971 and 1972, he served in Southeast Asia as a reconnaissance staff officer at Hq 7th Air Force, Tan Son Nhut AB, South Vietnam.
He returned to the States to serve as an Air Officer Commanding for the 5th Cadet Squadron at USAFA. In 1976, he attended graduate school at Auburn University. He also completed Air Command & Staff College during that time.
Returning to the cockpit, Bobby was a pilot in the 12th TRS at Bergstrom AFB, TX. In 1978, he was reassigned to Alconbury RAF Station, England, where he served as Wing Plans, and Chief of Operations, Tactics and Training Division with the 10 Tactical Training Wing and Operations Officer of the 1st TRS. From 1982 to 1984, he was an Air Liaison Officer at Fort Hood, TX. Bobby retired from active duty on 30 June 1984.
Following his Air Force career, Bobby and his wife Sherry moved to Colorado Springs, CO, where he took a position with Computer Sciences Corporation as a systems engineer. He also served on the Lewis-Palmer School District Board of Education. In 1998, he was a project manager with Allied Signal Technical Services Corporation, also in the Springs. Later he served as a project manager with the Honeywell Corporation. He retired from Honeywell in 2002.
Bobby was a recipient of the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal and three Air Force Commendation Medals. He held a Masters in Business Administration from Auburn University, and diplomas from Air War College, Air Command & Staff College, and Squadron Officer's School.

Bobby Beverly passed away November 7, 2012 at Monument, CO following a fall.
