Gary's History

FiskSm.jpg Second Lieutenant Rupert G. Fisk, United States Air Force Academy Class of 1964, was killed on 24 September 1964 in a T-37 accident near Williams AFB, AZ. His remains were escorted back to his home state of Alaska by USAFA Classmate and then-2nd Lieutenant Rick Walsh.

Gary reported to the Academy from the State of Alaska. While at the Academy, he was a member of the 14th Cadet Squadron, where he garnered two academic majors. Gary was a quiet, studious young man who was known as someone always ready to help out other cadets, if asked, with academic solutions. He was greatly admired by his 14th squadron classmates. In addition to his extensive academic pursuits, he served as Group Training Officer and Contrails Editor. He graduated in the Top Ten of the Class of 1964.

Upon graduation, Gary was assigned to Undergraduate Pilot Training at Williams AFB, AZ. He was a student pilot at the time of the accident.
