Gone But Not Forgotten
Captain Edward V. Lorenzen, Jr. Class of 1964, was killed in an aircraft accident on 28 May 1974 while TDY in Hawaii. He was survived by his wife. Sandra, and his two daughters, Julie and Kristina, of 334 Fender Parkway, Pineville, LA 71360; and by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward V. Lorenzen of Roseburg, Oregon.
While at the Academy, Captain Lorenzen majored in Basic Sciences. He was on the Dean's List for six semesters and the Commandant's List for five semesters. During his First Class year, he served as Squadron Commander and Athletic Officer for Second Squadron. Following graduation he was assigned to Norton AFB, CA, and then to Vance AFB. OK, for pilot training. His subsequent assignments were at MacDill AFB, FL; Eglin AFB, FL.; Holloman AFB, NM, NKP, Thailand; Maxwell AFB, AL; Hurlburt Field, FL and England AFB, LA.
Funeral services for Captain Lorenzen were held at the Academy on 7 June 1974. He was interred at the Academy Cemetery.
