Russ Register's HistoryWhen I left USAFA, I had no idea that I would spend the next 42 years of my life working for the United States Air Force, 21 years in the military and another 21 years in the Federal Civil Service. I was first assigned to Syracuse University to study electrical engineering. While there, I was introduced to a lovely young lady with whom I fell in love and married. After two years, I departed Syracuse with a new Mrs. Ginny Register and an MSEE Degree. Over the next 40 years, I served in various research, development, and acquisition assignments in the Air Force Systems and later Air Force Materiel Commands. As an engineer or manager, I worked on ground based radar, airborne avionics, communication satellite programs, and the headquarters staff. It was important and rewarding work. Finally, in the spring of 2006, I retired and now wonder how I ever found the time to go to work. Ginny and I raised two boys who both grew up and became physicians (radiation oncologists). Each is married with a young family. So far, we have three terrific grandchildren with another on the way. In our retirement, we have become active in our church, serving on and chairing various boards. Ginny started up a community food pantry and I was drafted as a jack of all trades, pitching in where ever and when ever needed to help out and consult. The Good Lord has blessed us in many ways and we are very thankful. [ Title ] [ Home ] [ Table Of Contents ] |
