Nick's History
Gone But Not Forgotten
Second Lieutenant Nicholas M. Zopolis, United States Air Force Academy Class of 1964, was killed on 26 August 1965 in a T-38 mid-air collision near Laughlin AFB, TX.
Nick reported to the Academy from the Pacific Northwest via the Bainbridge prep school. While at the Academy, Nick was a member of the 11th Cadet Squadron. He was a member of the fencing team for 3 years.
Upon graduation, Nick was assigned to Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, TX. He was a student pilot at the time of the accident.
