0749 MDT

It is another fine day here at the Air Force Academy. WebGuy2 is going out this morning around 10am to get some pictures, that way I can answer all the emails I received this morning. I know I have confused a lot of you with my statement "BCT IS OVER"  I am sorry, I guess, I wasn't thinking. I had spent so much time down in Jacks Valley that for me BCT was over! it meant I was able to rest somewhat. What I should have said was Jacks Valley is over.

I have been going through my e-mail's and the same questions seem to pop up. So I Figured I will post them all on the web that way I can possibly get through them before BCT really Ends!

Q: When can my Basic receive packages?

A: They can receive packages after Acceptance Parade.

Q: What does AY stand for?
A: AY stands for Academic Year

Q: Do our Basics move rooms?

A: Yes the Basics will move to the Academic Squadron tomorrow 5th August

Q: What does MKT Stand for?

A: Military Knowledge Test

Q: What does PFT Stand for?

A: Physical Fitness Test - Push ups, sit ups, pull ups, broad jump, 600 yard run.

And the big one !

Q: What is Warrior Run?
A:
The Warrior run is a 3 mile run that the basics run as a flight (30 basics or so) along with their cadre.  It’s the last real physical event for BCT.  Call it a run but it’s more like a shuffle (20 min mile).  The goal is to finish as a team.

More questions

Q: What is Rank Issue

A:  Rank issue is nothing more than basic cadets getting issued their fourth classmen shoulder boards.  The basics don’t wear them until they get them after the acceptance day parade
Q: When will we know which Squadrons will be hosting a BBQ and We have been advised to bring a picnic lunch to share with our cadet, is this still advised?
A: When you meet your cadet on Tuesday, he will know if the squadron is having a BBQ.  If not, there are plenty of places to go and eat.  Arnold Hall has a subway and pizzeria and the Field House has a food area.  If you want to bring something to eat and have lunch at the parade field that’s fine too.
Q: What is AFT

A: Aerobics Fitness Test: 1.5 mile run.
