And they're off....
After rounding the clubhouse turn, Squadron A is in the lead, followed by Squadron B.

OK.  Enough of that nonsense.

It's a beautiful morning up a the Academy.  There is peaceful mist up lying in some of the valleys.  Since the weather is clear, the March-Out should proceed as scheduled with the Basics arriving in Jacks Valley as scheduled.

As I mentioned yesterday, WebGal will head down to the B-52 to mill about with other spectators.  I asked her to call in like a correspondent from the field.  She'll call in and tell me that the grass is green, etc.  and I'll post it here.  I even told her if she spotted any local parents who showed up, to ask them some "interview" questions.  In my head, this sounding like a good idea.  As I write it, hmmm, maybe not.  Well, it's an experiment.

I'll post again around 0810.

Have to post earlier than I thought.  WebGal is already down there and speaking with people.

Parents, John and Dinah Kress, are down there.  WebGal asked them why they came out.  They answered, "We'd be in big trouble if we didn't come across town to see this".  Their son is Calvin.  They added that, "Calvin will probably be doing push-ups because he waved at us when he went by."  I asked WebGal to ask where they saw him.  They answered it was up where the Basics turned on to Parade Loop.

Here is the map again.

Boy, that was anti-climactic!  They are moving at a fast pace, and already passed the B-52 and are on the way in to Jacks Valley.  WebGal said once they passed, there was a big exodus of spectators.

WeGal just called back.  She ran into another family.  Tammy and Jeff Holley, and their sons James and Jake, came down from Littleton (near Denver) to cheer on their son, Joel.

Tammy and Jeff asked we tell all of you that:
"All the cadets looked fantastic."
"A lot were smiling."
"The weather was beautiful."

WebGal is on her way back.  I'll ask her a few questions when she arrives.

It was great meeting some parents and putting faces to the families who are enjoying this.  I also enjoyed getting your input on what you thought about the Academy, BCT, and the AOG Webpage.

I tried to get two shots of each squadron.  The first with the flag.  The second with some Basics in the squadron.  They are in squadron order A - J.
