Hey WebGal and Parents.  This is the Beast Shirt I mentioned yesterday.

I looked on the 2009 WebPages and found my notes from last year.  It was begin sold by the Specialty Shop at Arnold Hall.  I listed their phone number as (719) 333-4622, and that they were then open 0800 - 1645 Monday through Friday.

WebGal will call (pretty please) and find out if they are offering it this year and what the price will be.

Last year, I also wrote:
"Side Note:  Why "Beast"?  It's a slang term for BCT.  (Basic Cadet Training)
***Gotta love the Air Force.   BCT took too long to say.  Had to shorten an abbreviation***"
See!  I was even smart-alecky last year.

Here's another blast from the past.  I wrote the red entry below last year when the Basics went out to CATM.  You see, back in the 1980's, we did not have Operation Warrior, but rather Air Base Ground Defense.  The cool thing about it was that you got to run around and shoot blanks from your M-16.  That is, almost everyone.  Here is my entry from last year.

"Here's an embarrassing tidbit that will surely come back to haunt me.
I had never touched a weapon before coming to the Academy.  Thus, when I went through the CATM training I shot so poorly that I did not even "qualify"!  In other words, when I went out to Air Base Ground Defense (ABGD), I was not allowed to even carry the M-16.  Oh, and back then they gave each basic a clip of blanks in ABGD so that when they would shoot, you would hear the sound.  I was told I had to carry the demilitarized M-1 and yell "Bang! Bang!" instead.  Oh, the humanity!  Scarred for life, I tell you.  21 years later it still hurts.
"

And yes, ladies and gentlemen, even today, 22 years later, it still hurts.
Apparently the baring of my soul last year did not have the cathartic effect I had hoped for.
Oh well, back to the self-loathing. (A Grinch reference)

0820 MDT

Good morning another beautiful day in Colorado Springs. Thank you, WebGuy for sharing you claim to shame! Thankfully you can click a camera better than you can shoot. I did call the Specialty Shop just now and had to leave a message. I will post the information as soon as I get it.

Here are some pictures of I believe to be the Aggressors Squadron. They are in their living quarters, chilling out!

The unknown squadron. They all seem to know who I am. It is getting harder to walk past Basic's without them posing for me.  I have always had a problem saying NO!  (a flaw I will have to live with).

I just want to let you know that I am not ignoring your emails, I am having problems getting them. This is my only means to communicate.

Here are the Executioners doing the Assault course.  Don't worry mum I spoke to some of them afterwards and they were in good spirit.

1630 MDT

I have just been informed that yes they are selling the Beast shirts at $12.00 a piece and they have all the sizes at the moment.

I'm bad, I forgot to give you all the information about the shirts which are sold at the Specialty Shop at Arnold Hall.  I listed their phone number as (719) 333-4622, and they are open 0800 - 1645 Monday through Friday.

The schedule for tomorrow is up. Have a good evening and Good Night.
